Strong trade growth for first seven months of financial year

Port of Fremantle trade has grown almost 10 per cent in the first seven months of this financial year, with imports up 7.4 per cent and exports up 11.2 per cent. Container trade is up 10.0 per cent.

New Board member David Smith

Mr Smith, who was appointed to the Fremantle Ports Board in January, is a former partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Melbourne and Perth. He is a Director of St Bartholomew’s House Inc., a former independent External Chair of the Risk Assurance and Audit Committee of Port Hedland Port Authority and a former member of the University of Melbourne Audit and Finance Committees.

Free information seminar for transport operators

All transport operators are invited to register for a free seminar on Chain of Responsibility regulations and safe road operations at a seminar at 2.30pm on Thursday 12 March at Royal Fremantle Golf Club.

First visit for giant container ship

The 300-metre container ship MSC Buxcliff made its maiden voyage to Fremantle on 23 January. The biggest container ship to enter Fremantle Inner Harbour, it was built to carry 6628 TEU, has an overall beam of 40m and a maximum draft of 14.5m.

Assistance available for Planning Approval process

Fremantle Ports’ Planning Approval is required for any proposed development on Fremantle Ports land or waters but assistance is available and the process is not complicated.

Victoria Quay Night Markets extended to 25 February

Following a very successful summer season, the Wednesday night food markets have been extended until 25 February. Held inside and wharfside at B Shed, on Victoria Quay, the markets offer food and entertainment with the exotic Latino flavours of South America and Spain.

Fremantle Dockers Starlight Purple Haze Game on 5 April

Dress in purple and be ready to donate! Fremantle Ports is the anchor sponsor for this annual fundraising game for the Starlight Children’s Foundation. The Fremantle Dockers play Port Adelaide at 4.40pm on Easter Sunday 5 April at Domain Stadium (formerly Patersons), in Subiaco.
